Free Patterns for Making a Basket Liner
It is likely that you get some free patterns for making a fabric basket liner, but what if you don’t? It is not that you can never make your own pattern for making a basket liner.

Materials and supplies:
• 1 yard of cotton print fabric in any bright colorful print.
• Sewing thread to match fabric choice
• Lace
• Scissors
• Ruler
• Sewing Machine
• Iron
• Hand Needle
• Pattern drafted on graph paper, either made by your own
self, or gets it downloaded from the internet.
Procedure:
a. Make a pattern or use the downloaded pattern. Enlarge pattern to full size from scale drawing.b. Fold fabric with face sides together, make neat folds.
c. Lay out full size pattern on fabric.
d. Cut out fabric along pattern edges, use a sharp scissors and cut neatly in straight lines, no ragged cuts.
e. Pin fabric edges together and place the lace/trim inside here.
f. Leave short section on straight seam unstitched.
g. Stitch using a ¼" seam allowance around balance.
h. Turn crisply at corners and stitch curves smoothly.
i. Clip corners and curved seams carefully.
j. Turn right side out. Make sure that the corners you turned are sharp enough, try inserting a pencil from inside so that the cloth completely turns out.
k. Press seams.
l. Hand stitch the open edge, but use the same color of fabric and stitch or ham it in a way that it’s not obvious enough. Otherwise it’ll give a dirty look.
m. Press finished basket liner.
n. Line any of your baskets and fill with all the goodies you have bought or selected to fill the basket.
o. Basket with liners generally does not need to be tied up in cellophane sheets. But if you want so there is no harm in it. Do it as you like it. Enjoy!!!!
